Just Received the "INSPIRING BLOG AWARD"...

Well just got another lovely surprise this morning.  My other blog where I post snippets of my novels:


just received another award for my blogging.  This time it's the "Inspiring Blog Award.  And I want to start with a big thank you to the person who nominated me Raani York whose blog you can find at this Link:


I strongly urge you to go check her blog out, she's a lot of fun and very insightful in what she writes about.
Next, I'm to share 7 things about myself.  So here goes...

1-I'm an adopted child.
2-I was born and raised on Long Island in New York.
3-I have been studying various forms of dance since my 41st birthday (Ballroom, Jazz, Ballet, and Improv)
4-I'm preparing to start a VLOG in addition to my blogging
5-I am a big fan of science fictions shows, especially Doctor Who.
6-I met my wife of 23 years at a Doctor Who Fan Club in Sacramento.  (Our 23rd anniversary is coming up on June 17th).
7-I have been on television while playing the MASTER, a villain from Doctor Who, for the Sacramento PBS station that had run Doctor Who.  I was usually harrassing the people doing the pitching during pledge break weeks to help raise money for the station.

 It's been several years since I released any books myself, as I've been mostly focused on voiceover work and recording the first 4 books of Helen's "Forever Detective" series (I'm currently recording the voiceover for her most recent novel "Forever Chosen" and her anthology "W. It Was Supposed To Be Just Another Day...

Hello everyone. I had been planning and hoping to start out this blog post with me being all... But then Monday happened, and I wound up feeling like... Here's what's been happening around here for the last few months (well more like for the last year). You see, part of the reason (well a very big reason actually) why I haven't been posting a lot in the last year is because I developed some health issues. Nothing life-threatening, mind you, but life altering. Keeping a long story short, as of May I had to leave my job at the county of Santa Cruz and take Disability Retirement.   Now this whole process has been ongoing since September of last year and now it's officially a year later, come to think of it. But throughout that time, I had a lot of doctor appointments, as well as dealing with a lot of stressful paperwork, which included short-term disability (which will be coming to an end this month). The Importance of Editing....

The last 7 days have kept me busy.  I mean REALLY busy.  And the sad thing about it all is that some of this could have been avoided....up to a point.  Now I'm talking about re-editing my first novel AFTER it had already come out.  Why would I do that?  Because in spite of the combined efforts of myself and 2-3 other people checking the novel over for grammatical errors, a number of them got past all of us.  From day one, I was determined to try and put out as good a product as I possibly could.  And when I found out I'd failed, I felt obligated to go back and fix things. Now, I'm sure a number of you are wondering to yourselves, "Is he saying he never got it professionally edited?"  The answer is, "I did not."  Now, this is not because I was so arrogant in my own writing abilities, nor was it because I was being cheap and didn't want to put the money out.  The truth is... my wife and I have applied for Food Stamps and have been getting aid from my
